The Ampersand Series

About:

Bridgette Ampersand is an optometrist with a secret. Since she was little, she could see strong emotions as flashes of memory. As she got older, the ability grew stronger, as did her unwillingness to share what she can do. After spending most of her undergraduate studies saving lives from distress, she hung up her wigs and eyeliner.

That is, until she thought someone was going to die. Blindly thrown into disaster after disaster, Bridgette is forced to confront her own desire to help people with her limited skills to do so. Full of love, laughter, dark humor and more than her share of things that go bump in the night, Bridgette Ampersand is a friend and a force to be reckoned with.

The inspiration for this series are the characters themselves. I was working on a novella featuring a woman and her dog solving mysteries in different styles. Film Noir, Science Fiction, Speculative Fiction, and then the character of a young girl who could see memories and thoughts with strong emotions popped into my head and she wouldn’t go away. I thought after one chapter, the character would stop talking to me. Fast forward two months to my first published book.

Hopefully you read and love spending time with them, but it’s OK if you don’t. My husband isn’t a Crime Thriller/Romance fan either. If you enjoy J.D. Robb’s In Death Series, you’ll likely enjoy this one as well. Similarly, Harry Bosch by Michael Connolly but with way more outfit descriptions and coffee.

Also a dog. Because every hero needs a dog.
